"I would urge optimizers to think holistically about their customer journey. I think that a lot of times, we as optimizers, even the word optimizing is confusing sometimes. Often it means to optimize is a single page, right?
It's a single landing page, a single channel, a single type of user and if we can't think holistically about our customer journey, who are they to become potential customers for us?
How can we influence them?
Who are they as potential customers?
What is the difference between a potential customer and the customers we have today?
Is there something that I can help them achieve and maybe there's nothing to do with our product or service that I am offering in the first place.
Mapping out that customer journey is essential. I think it is something that can force you to think holistically as an optimizer and creating a great customer journey."
